The pub is on Fulwood Road, just beyond the junction with Nethergreen Road travelling out of Sheffield. It is next to Nether Green School and just before the very busy Tesco Express. The car park entrance is between the Pub and Tesco Express.

The Rising Sun is well served by buses to and from Sheffield city centre. There is a bus stop almost outside the pub.
The No 120 runs from Sheffield Interchange through the city centre to the pub via Hallamshire Hospital and Broomhill .This is a frequent bus service, every 10 to 15 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes evenings and Sundays.
The No 6 is less frequent, running hourly day and evenings. It runs to/from Darnall via the City Centre and Hunters Bar to the pub.
There is also the 123 which runs from Crystal Peaks via Manor Top and the City centre out to Broomhill, the pub and Fulwood. This is a half hourly service, during the day only.
At last checking the last buses back into town - the 120 and the 6 - leave Fulwood around 11.10 to 11.15.
